Please sign this petition to oppose guns on school property in the North Clackamas School District.
Last fall, the Oregon Court of Appeals invalidated a longstanding ban against people with concealed handgun licenses (CHLs) bringing concealed weapons on college campuses. Shortly after that, the administrators of the Newberg School District changed their own regulations regarding firearms, allowing them to be brought on school property by people with CHLs.
We're asking North Clackamas School District to stand with us in opposing any policies that allow guns in our schools. We also ask North Clackamas School District to support policies like the one the State Board of Higher Education issued in March prohibiting the possession of firearms by students, employees, contractors, event attendees, and users of university property.
