Sign below and ask Superintendent Jim Schlachter to please keep our schools gun free.

Last fall, the Oregon Court of Appeals invalidated a longstanding ban against people with concealed handgun licenses (CHLs) bringing concealed weapons on college campuses. Shortly after that, the administrators of the Newberg School District changed their own policy regarding firearms, allowing them to be brought onto school property by people with CHLs.

We urge Superintendent Schlachter to stand with us in opposing any policies that allow guns on our school campuses. We also ask him to support policies like the one the State Board of Higher Education issued in March prohibiting the possession of firearms by students, employees, contractors, event attendees, and users of university property.

We need your help to show that the parents, students, and community members of the Gresham-Barlow School District do not want guns in our classrooms. Sign below and urge Superintendent Schlachter to commit to gun-free schools.

Take Action Above

Superintendent Schlachter,

I care about the safety of Gresham-Barlow students, faculty, and staff of our public schools.

I am asking you to formally commit to oppose guns on school campuses.
